API Krupali Borse was found with a mobile snatcher, Sabir Sher Ali Sayyed, at a Powai hotel
Mumbra residents, led by an NGO from the town, have launched an indefinite agitation at Azad Maidan in Mumbai, demanding action against Assistant Police Inspector Krupali Borse. The agitators claim that, despite her connections with criminals, no action has been taken against the cop for nearly two months. Agitators have demanded the API, who was attached to Mumbra police station be sacked as soon as possible, to save Mumbra.

mid-day has repeatedly reported on the departmental inquiry against API Borse after she was found with a mobile snatcher, Sabir Sher Ali Sayyed, at a Powai hotel in August 2023. The Thane top cop had ordered inquiry against her but even after nearly two months no action has been taken against her. She rejoined the duty last week but her charge of detection has been given to other officials and she is on general duty.
Seeing no action against the cop, Sukun Mahila Samajik Sanstha launched the agitation seeking her transfer, on Tuesday morning. Anisha Sheikh, a member, said, "Everyone in Mumbra knows how API Borse is misusing her power and has strong connections with accused persons and people involved in illegal activities. Even after a departmental inquiry why has no action been taken against her yet?"
Ahmed Neta, founder of the NGO, who has written several applications and filed RTIs with Thane as well as Mumbai police on the issue, said, "Many of her subordinates are hand in glove with her, hence the department is dragging its feet to take action against her. We want to question Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who hails from Thane, is this how he wants the department where a tainted officer is shielded, to work?"
