Mumbai Metro Line 2B: More than 50 per cent of civil work for Mandale depot completed, says MMRDA

More than 50 per cent of civil work for the Mandale depot has been completed, said Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Wednesday.

According to MMRDA, Mandale Depot is an integral part of the 23.64-km-long Mumbai Metro Line 2B (DN Nagar to Mandale).

"Total 54 per cent of the civil work for Mandale Depot is completed. Mandale depot will have 72 stable lines along with important structures like Hazard Store Building, Heavy Wash Plant, UG Tank, DCC Admin Building, Central Store Building, Workshop, Inspection Building, C.M.V. Building, Receiving Substation (RSS), Test Track, ETP & STP Compound Wall, Security Watch Tower, etc," MMRDA said in a statement. Mandale Depot is being developed on 30 hectares of land, which mainly comprises of government land.

Dust mitigation system set up at Mandale Depot

According to MMRDA, Air Quality (AAQ) and Noise Quality (NQ) level within the area of Mandale depot is recorded under the Central Pollution Control Board standard limits.

"While carrying out construction work of the Mandale depot we are taking utmost care and following all the necessary norms. Our team periodically implements competency remediation plan. The aim is to complete the project on time and it is planned to complete the structural works soon," said MMRDA Commissioner S.V.R. Srinivas.
