As many as four firemen were injured after a massive fire broke out at the New Industrial Estate in Andheri east area of Mumbai, the civic officials said on Thursday.
The fire was confined to a a ground-plus-two-storey structure in Shanti Nagar area on Mahakali Caves Road near Giriraj Industrial in Andheri East area of Mumbai, a civic body statement said.
It said that the incident was reported at approximately 1:56 pm and following the information, the Mumbai Fire Brigade officials rushed to the spot.
The blaze was classified as Level-III (major) by the Mumbai Fire Brigade.

"The fire was confined to electric wiring and electric installation, plastic, wipers, furniture, plastic sheets, raw materials etc. on ground floor, first floor and terrace of partly ground floor and partly ground plus one-floor structure," said an official.
According to the official statement, the affected area measures around 500x1000 square feet where the firefighting has been underway.
"A total of 10 Fire Engines (FE), 02 Water Tankers (MWT), 08 Jetting Tankers (JT), 01 Water Tender (WT), 02 Advanced Water Tankers (AWTT), 01 Chemical Pumper (CP), 1 Breathing Apparatus Van (BAV), and 108 Ambulance have been deployed to the spot," an official said.
According to the BMC, four firemen were injured during the fire-fighting operations and were shifted to a nearby hospital. The injured firemen were identified as Devendra Chotelal Yadav, 30, Tushar Umaji Harad, 25, Prakash Laxman Ingole, 30, Sandhya Sanjay Farade, 34. All of them were treated and has been discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, a fire broke out in the duct of the 17th floor of the Ground plus 24-story Sai Sapphire building in Powai around 10 am. The fire was contained after two hours of firefighting efforts. According to fire brigade officials, the blaze started in the duct on the 17th floor and spread through the electrical duct, affecting the wiring and electrical installations between the 9th and 21st floors.
"Due to the thick wires, there was dense smoke," said a fire brigade official.
Around 50 to 60 residents were safely rescued from the staircase during the fire-fighting operation.
