Mumbai: Man arrested for making bomb threat call

The Maharashtra ATS has arrested one person who allegedly called the Mumbai Police control room, giving false information that in two months a bombing like that of 1993 will take place in Mumbai. The caller also claimed that one MLA from the Indian National Congress was involved in it.

According to sources, the call was received on Saturday evening from an unknown number and the caller claimed that a 1993-type blast will take place in Mahim, Bhendi Bazaar, Nagpada and Madanpura. He also claimed that riots would also take place in Mumbai and that the Nirbhaya gang rape case incident would repeat. The caller said that one MLA from the Indian National Congress is also involved and some people are already present in the city to execute the plan.

Based on the call, the officials were alerted and later Maharashtra ATS apprehended one person. The officials are probing the seriousness of the threat. The accused is identified as Nabi Yahya Khan (55) alias KGN alias Lala. He was arrested from Pathanwadi in Malad. The accused has 12 criminal cases against him which includes robbery and molestation.
