Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Uddhav Sena takes lead in 3 Mumbai seats

Trends after third round of counting for Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 showed that Arvind Sawant was leading by a margin of over 40,000 votes.

The trends of counting of votes of Mumbai Lok Sabha Elections 2024 on Tuesday indicated that Shiv Sena (UBT) candidates in 10 seats are leading including Mumbai South, Mumbai North East and Mumbai South Central.

Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray, after the party split vertically, is the constituent of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra and the national coalition of opposition parties INDIA bloc.

Sena (UBT) had fielded Adv Anil Desai, Sanjay Dina Patil and Arvind Sawant from Mumbai South Central, Mumbai North East and Mumbai South respectively.
Desai is leading with a margin of 16,837 votes, according to the Election Commission of India data. Meanwhile, Patil and Sawant are leading by a margin of 4,984 and 44,533 votes respectively.

Apart from the three seats in Mumbai, Sena (UBT) candidates in Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Parbhani, Nashik, Shirdi and Osmanabad are leading by a margin of at least over 10,000 votes, said ECI data.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena took a seven-seat lead. Shrikant Shinde, who is running for a third term in Parliament, was leading his opponents by 1,29,725 votes in the Kalyan constituency. In Thane, CM Eknath Shinde's close confidante Naresh Mhaske won by a small margin of 1,09,441 votes over his competitors.

Mumbai Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Counting of votes underway

The counting of votes in the state's 48 Lok Sabha seats began at 8 am, with postal ballots being counted first, according to an official. The Shiv Sena and NCP groups, together with the government BJP and the opposition Congress, are competing for political power in the state, with the Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP).

Maharashtra had a voter turnout of 61.33 per cent in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, which were held in five phases from April 19 to May 20.

In total, 5,70,06,778 voters out of 9,29,43,890 exercised their right to vote in the five phases.

The Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency had the highest polling rate at 71.88 per cent, while Mumbai South had the lowest turnout at 50.06 per cent.

14,507 persons are conducting vote counting in Maharashtra in 289 counting rooms and 4,309 counting tables.
