The Western Railway's Mumbai division on Thursday while shared a Mumbai local train update and said that it will operate a night block of three hours that will begin on Friday night.
In an official statement, the Western Railway said, to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of three hours will be taken on up and down fast lines between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations on the intervening night of Friday/ Saturday i.e. on 19th/20th January, 2024.
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the block on UP Fast line will be undertaken from 23.55 hrs to 02.55 hrs, while on down fast line it will be from 01.35 hrs to 04.35 hrs. Due to the block, Train No. 19101 Virar-Bharuch MEMU will be delayed by 15 minutes and hence will depart from Virar at 04:50 hrs instead of its scheduled departure at 04:35 hrs.

The Western Railway said, "There will be no block in the day over Western Railway suburban section on this Sunday, 21st January, 2024."
Meanwhile, in an another statement, ahead of the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024, the Western Railway on Wednesday said that it will run additional Mumbai local trains for the convenience of the people.
In a statement, the Western Railway said, "For the convenience of participants attending the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024 to be held on Sunday, 21st January, 2024, Western Railway will run three additional special slow Mumbai Local Trains in the early morning of 21st January, 2024, from Virar to Churchgate, Borivali to Churchgate and Churchgate to Bandra.
The Western also shared the details of the addition services. It said that the first special Mumbai local train service will start at 2:15 am. The special train from Borivali will start at 3:05 am and the third special train will depart from Churchgate at 3 am. All these trains will a run as slow local trains and would halt at all stations on the line, the Western Railway said.
