A local train came to a stop near Mumbai Central railway station on the Western line
On Wednesday afternoon, a train came to a stop near Mumbai Central railway station on the Western line due to derailment, resulting in a disruption of rail services.
The Accident Relief Train promptly reached the location.
While initially WR said it was a technical issue leading to delay of trains, later it issued a statement saying that one coach had derailed and the problem was being rectified. The derailment occurred on a crossover of the Virar-bound slow line on way to the Mumbai Central carshed.
Western Railway officials stated that the incident led to delays in the Western line services.

Sumit Thakur, CPRO of Western Railway, mentioned, "There was a derailment of one trolley of empty EMU rake in Mumbai Central car shed yard at 11.20 am. The restoration in progress. The DOWN line service is slightly affected and will be addressed within 30-40 minutes."
Commuters complained that trains were running late by 40 minutes and there was announcements at stations stating so. Trains were diverted other tracks to keep services running.
