Wildlife enthusiast Wasim Athaniya said, "Sighting of leopard is common in the area and around two days ago, a staff member from the cattle farm was surprised to see that a leopard was sitting on the raised platform inside a cattle shed surrounded by buffaloes. As this happens rarely, the staff member took the video of the leopard. When the big cat sensed the presence of people around, it peacefully left and vanished into the forest adjacent to the farm."
Sightings of leopards in the Aarey Milk colony is a common occurrence, and the farm owners in the area do not see them as a threat. The Maharashtra Forest Department patrols the area regularly and also conducts awareness programmes for locals.
