Mumbai: Lalbaug flyover to remain shut for vehicular movement for 3 months

Vehicles heading to or coming from South Mumbai via Parel bridge or Parel TT Junction can drive from below the bridge till June 15, an official said.

The Lalbaug flyover is the city`s second-longest one, starting from ITC in Parel and ending at Byculla zoo


The iconic Lalbaug flyover will remain closed for vehicular movement as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is carrying out repair and bearing work.

According to a report in Times of India, vehicular movement on the flyover will remain shut between 11 pm to 6 am every day from March 24 for the next three months.

However, civic officials said that vehicles heading to or coming from South Mumbai via Parel bridge or Parel TT Junction can drive from below the bridge till June 15.

"Traffic movement on the stretch from Byculla market near Rani Baug towards north direction will be closed for the next three months," DCP (South Traffic) Yogesh Kumar said. He further said that traffic police will be deployed in order to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the said period.
