A contract labourer died while cleaning a water pipeline near Kala Ghoda in Fort on Saturday, said officials of the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
The deceased was identified as Pintu Singh, 34.
Around 3.30 pm on Saturday, the fire brigade received a call informing that two persons got stuck in the water pipeline while laying it near Kala Ghoda.
"Two persons got stuck in the pipeline while work was going on. One was rescued and sent to GT Hospital while another was missing and we carried out a search operation," said an official from the MFB.

Singh was found later and sent to JJ Hospital for treatment where he was declared brought dead. The second labourer, Sukarkumar Singh, 35, was treated and discharged from GT Hospital.
