While the CBSE and ICSE boards have already started their Std XII evaluation process, state board students continue to wait for clarity on how their results would be declared. Students are of the opinion that this would delay the further admission process as well.

Speaking to mid-day, Sonali Kambli, an HSC student, said, "This period of uncertainty is really getting stretched. Our friends studying under other boards are able to move on, but we are stuck waiting for the state board to decide and declare the evaluation process for HSC results."

Adding to this, another student, Varun Bhat said, "Considering the assessment criteria decided by other boards, we are anticipating the formula to be something similar in our case as well. But with no clarity, the stress is increasing. Std XI has not been a good academic year for us. Moreover, during HSC, the state board colleges have hardly done any evaluation, apart from some online tests. Some have not been able to appear for them due to no or limited access to the Internet."

Even though students of other boards are in a better position, no clarity on the HSC results is a cause of concern for them as well. Student Shreyansh Waghela from Kandivli said, "HSC has the highest number of students and without their results no further admission process can begin in Maharashtra, where most of us want to apply. Even if our results are declared, we cannot move ahead unless the HSC results are out too."

As the Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear the state board exam-related case today, Anubha Shrivastava from India Wide Parents Association, one of the petitioners, said, "All other boards have not only declared the evaluation formula but have also given a tentative date for the results. However, state board students continue to wait. This point will be raised in the ongoing case."
