The frame-up
On November 26, 2021, Sayed and Mooponr were resting at the former's residence with the door open, when an unknown person left a box inside near the door and left. Nicolas immediately informed the Sahu Nagar police about the box and they reached the spot. The cops seized the box and arrested Sayed and Mooponr.
Their friends wrote to the police chief for justice, but got no response. Thereafter, mid-day published their version of the events and got the CCTV camera footage showing Nicolas with the box that the cops had found.
Following this paper's report, the Commissionerate conducted an inquiry in the case. In the meantime, mid-day also highlighted the fact that Nicolas had been harassing Sayed's partner to end their relationship and Sayed suspected him of setting him up.
Eventually, the Sahu Nagar police arrested Nicolas and released the two innocent men. Sayed even got his job back.
