Mumbai: Fire breaks out in Santacruz near Milan subway, one dead

A fire has broke out in a basement of a six floored building in Santacruz near Milan subway. The Mumbai Fire Brigade has reached the spot and fire fighting operations are on.

A fire broke out around 5 pm near Milan subway in Santacruz West. The fire is in the basement of Dheeraj Heritage- a six floored commercial building. No injuries reported yet. However, as per the BMC two females are likely trapped in the basement.

As per BMC's updated information, a 45-years old female has died in the fire. The victim was taken to Cooper hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The fire has erupted in the basement, likely the parking area of the building, and the parked cars and bikes are confined in the fire.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade has declared the fire to Level 2, and seven fire engines and five jumbo tankers are deployed on the spot. The fire fighting is underway.
