The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) received a fresh stock of vaccines on Thursday night, but vaccination centres remained open only in the second half of the day on Friday. There were 79,721 vaccinations administered including those in private and government centres. The vaccinations on Saturday will be held from 9 am to 5 pm.

After vaccinating more than a lakh people every day on three consecutive days, the number of recipients had reduced to half on Thursday.

Though the new stock that arrived on Thursday had more than 2 lakh vaccines, their delivery to the vaccination centres took time and they opened only for three hours between 2 pm and 5 pm.

Out of 79,721 vaccinations, 43,118 were administered at private centres. Of the 79,721 vaccine doses, 58,905 were given to people between 18 and 44 years old. Of these, 21,419 were administered at the civic-run centres, 2,813 were administered by government centres and 34,673 were given by private centres.

Out of total vaccinations, 4,644 vaccines were given to senior citizens and 15,439 were given to those between 45 and 59 years. At least 15 international students and 7 lactating mothers received doses on Friday.
