The Cuffe Parade police have registered an accidental death report after a 27-year-old law aspirant died by suicide. In her suicide note, the woman stated that no one should be held responsible for her death and requested the media not to sensationalise the matter.

According to the police, the woman was suffering from anxiety and was facing academic pressure after she failed her law examination. "Her father has stated that she suffered from depression due to academic stress," said an officer.

The woman, the daughter of an IAS couple, jumped off from the 10th floor of Suinita building around 4 am on Monday. The watchmen saw her jump and informed her family. She was rushed to GT Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The woman was pursuing law from a reputed college in Sonipat, Haryana. She had returned to the city without appearing for her examination. "She was consulting a doctor in Haryana and Mumbai. Her father had been informed by her doctors that she had suicidal tendencies," said the officer.

The 7-8 page suicide note recovered from her bedroom is addressed to her father, mother, younger sister and the police. "It mentions some emotional moments in the family. She also tells the police not to hold her family responsible for her death and requested the media not to sensationalise her death," the officer added.
