The number of new Covid-19 cases in the city dropped marginally to 323 on Sunday from 331 the day before. Daily fatalities, however, rose by four to nine, according to the latest report of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. A similar trend was reported in the state's figures, with infections going down to 5,508 and deaths rising to 151.
Among the nine Covid-19 deaths confirmed on Sunday, six patients had comorbidities, four were in the 40-59 years age group and five were senior citizens. The test positivity rate (TPR) in the city also rose marginally on Sunday, to 0.95 per cent.
The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent after 378 more people were discharged after they recovered from Covid-19. The doubling rate continued to improve in Mumbai and was 1,665 days on Sunday.

The number of daily cases across the state dropped to 5,508 on Sunday from 6,061 on Saturday, whereas deaths went up to 151 from 128. But the case fatality rate remained constant at 2.1 per cent. On Sunday, a total of 4,895 patients were sent back home, leaving 71,510 active cases across the state.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also registered a slight drop in cases, at 802, including the ones reported in Mumbai. Besides Mumbai, Raigad reported the maximum number of cases, at 103, in the MMR, followed by Navi Mumbai with 68. Kalyan-Dombivli reported 59 new cases, Thane 45 and Vasai-Virar 37.
The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered 16 Covid-19 fatalities, with Raigad reporting seven deaths, Vasai-Virar three, Thane two, and Palghar, Navi Mumbai and Kalyan-Dombivli one each.
