The Mulund police have registered an ADR case after a burnt body was found in a public washroom in the Vasant garden area of Mulund. "Locals informed us that smoke was seen coming from a public washroom. We rushed to the spot and found a woman's body. We took her to Mulund general hospital, but the doctors declared her brought dead," said a police officer.

The police began investigations and identified the woman as Senhal Bobde, 35. "A purse was found in the bathroom. We scanned it and found her identity card and identified her," the officer added. "The woman is a resident of Thane and she had come to the washroom alone on her scooter. We checked all CCTV footage of her journey and she was alone since she left her residence." the officer added.

DCP Zone 7 Purushottam Karad said prima facie it appears to be suicide, but the police are investigating this matter and have not yet ruled out the murder angle. "Initially, we thought she had been murdered, but post mortem reports show that the possibility is dim," said an officer. Sources said that Bobde had a dispute with her friend and husband and could have taken the extreme step owing to this.
