The Dindoshi police have arrested two accused who possessing as tourist guides allegedly duped two foreigners and one Guwahati resident pretending to show them Film City. The accused were taking them around the forest area of Aarey Colony in an auto-rickshaw.
On the complaint of the Guwahati-based businessman Hit Faruqur Faizurrahman (28), the Dindoshi police registered the case and arrested the duo on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Rohit Kasare and Denzil Fernandes aka Denzo.
According to the police sources, the complaint Faizurrahman who lives in Guwahati has come to Mumbai for the first time and he wanted to visit the Film City area.

The accused Rohit and Denzil were standing at the gate of Film City. The duo asked Faizurrahman to take a guided tour and demanded Rs 1500 to show him the Film City where the TV shows have their shooting studios.

Later the duo gathered two foreigners and made them sat to in the auto and pretended to show Film City by touring them in the Aarey colony forest area. When Faizurraahman asked the accused to show the actual Film City, the accused demanded Rs 1500 additional charges for each person. After the tourist and Guwahati resident denied paying, the accused took them back to the Film City gate and escaped.
Faizurrahaman and the two foreigners then rushed to Dindoshi police station and registered a cheating complaint against them said an officer.
"We have registered the case and arrested the duo during the interrogation it has been revealed cases have been registered against the duo who had cheated many other people in the past on the pretext of showing them the Film City," said a police officer from Dindoshi police station.
