The Mulund Police claim to have busted a racket of kidnapping and trafficking minor girls, after they rescued a 4-year-old girl who was abducted and later sold in Mumbra. Police have detained the abductors who revealed that they had sold the girl for R15,000. Police suspect a close relative's involvement in the crime.

The four-year-old, who resides in Ashok Nagar in Mulund West was enjoying fireworks with her friends at a nearby municipal ground on Monday night. At 8 pm, she came home to drink water and returned to the ground after informing her mother. When she did not return home, her parents started looking for her. After searching for her for two hours, they reached Mulund Police station and registered a case.

The cops formed a team after receiving basic information. They then detained two persons named Anil and Dilip. "During interrogation, they confessed to kidnapping the girl and selling her in Mumbra for R15,000. They took R5,000 as advance", said a police officer. The duo gave the exact location where they had sold the girl. Cops immediately reached Mumbra, from where they rescued the girl yesterday afternoon. The officials claimed to have busted a big child trafficking racket and are investigating it further.
