The bride's parents had kept the envelopes and gold jewellery inside her makeup room. They locked the room before dinner was served.
The accused had followed the bride's parents and were lurking near the room. Once the parents were out of sight, one of the accused jumped through an opening above the door and entered the room. Among the stolen jewellery was a pair of earrings worth Rs 40,000.
