Crime Branch Unit 7 arrest three men for stabbing a 17-year-old to death in Aarey Milk Colony on April 22
On Saturday, the Crime Branch Unit 7 cracked a murder case wherein an unidentified body was found in at Aarey Milk Colony at Goregaon on April 22.
According to crime branch officials, the body of the deceased was initially unidentified. But later, he was identified as Sunil Kumar Singh (17).
The cops nabbed the three accused, of which the main accused was identified as Aditya Jadhav (21) while the other two are minors.
Inspector Sanjay Surve from Crime Branch Unit 7 said, "The trio murdered Singh on April 21 while the body was recovered on April 22.
However, the accused took Singh to the Picnic Garden at Aarey Colony after which he was stabbed several times."
A team comprising assistant police inspector Anil Dhole, Santosh Sawant, Vijay Kadam and constables Sanjay Jadhav and Sudhir Shinde identified the body and learnt that, during Diwali 2013, the deceased had a fight with the three accused over a cigarette.
Surve added, "The fight blew out of proportion after a riot took place in the Tagore Nagar area of Vikhroli. In the incident, Singh's brother Anil had assaulted Jadhav's parents. So the latter wanted to seek revenge."
The trio was arrested from Vikhroli and handed over to the Aarey police.
