CP Sanjay Pandey at the Bandra Gymkhana on Monday
If you have planned a vacation this summer and worry about the safety of your belongings at home, Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey has an idea.
City cops are working towards pasting QR codes at homes that will be temporarily unoccupied in the summer months.
Addressing residents at Bandra Gymkhana, Pandey spoke on various issues, including break-ins in the city. "Tell us before leaving on a vacation and we will place a QR code on your door and a cop, deputed on a mobile van from the respective police station, will visit during his daily rounds. This will clearly show police presence and give a clear message to criminals that cops are looking after residential complexes," he said.
To safeguard houses and citizens, the CP also urged Resident Welfare Associations and local groups to be proactive.
DCP (Zone 9) Manjunath Singe said, "If you are going out for just one day, at least keep one room illuminated. Also, if possible place a CCTV camera inside one of the rooms, especially where valuables are kept, with live monitoring on your mobile phone."
