For the fifth time since June 21, vaccination centres will remain shut today due to acute shortage that the city has been facing for a long time. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said that they would resume the drive on receiving adequate stock and citizens would be informed accordingly.
However, private centres will conduct vaccinations on Wednesday. Due to the shortage, centres have remained shut on June 21, July 1, 9 and 10. In addition, limited centres were open for a limited period of time on at least six days. "As new stock arrives, we will open up the centres. Citizens will be informed about it," said a civic official. Till Tuesday, 73 lakh doses have been administered in the city, of which 42.5 lakh were given at public centres.
