The Central Railway Friday announced mega block on suburban sections for Sunday July 16, 2023.
Here are the key details:
Matunga-Thane up and down slow line: There will be a mega block from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm on the Up and Down slow lines between Matunga and Thane stations.
Diversion of down slow line services: Down slow line services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai between 10:14 am and 3:09 pm will be diverted to the Down fast line between Mulund and Thane stations. They will stop at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund stations. They will then be re-diverted to the Down slow line at Thane station, arriving at their destination approximately 15 minutes behind schedule.
Diversion of up slow line services: Up slow line services departing from Kalyan between 10:25 am and 3:10 pm will be diverted to the Up fast line between Thane and Matunga stations. They will stop at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, and Sion stations. They will be re-diverted to the Up slow line at Matunga station, reaching their destination about 15 minutes behind schedule.
Diversion of Mail/Express trains: Down Mail/Express trains departing from CSMT/Dadar during the block period will be diverted to the 5th line between Vidyavihar/Thane and Diva stations. Up Mail/Express trains arriving at Dadar/CSMT during the block period will be diverted to the 6th line between Kalyan and Vikhroli stations.
Harbor Line services: There will be a mega block on the Harbor Line as well, with Down and Up services affected between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai/Bandra and Chunabhatti. Some Down and Up Harbor Line services will be canceled, while special services will run between Panvel and Kurla during the block period.
