Imran, who hailed from Kolkata, used to work in the Gandhi Market as an embroidery designer along with Sabir who belongs to Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Their co-worker Shabbir Ansari said, "On Tuesday at 8.30 pm both Sabir and Imran went for a cup of tea when the incident took place."
Imran's cousin Asad said, "He was the only bread winner in his family.

Nigar Sayyed, sister of Sabir said, "My brother has a 7-year-old child and he looked after our parents. We want strict action against this negligence."
An FIR has been lodged by Worli police against Four Seasons Residency's builder, contractor, and supervisor. Senior Police Inspector Anil Koli said, "We have registered an FIR under IPC sections 304(a) (negligence) and 34 (common intention) and are investigating the matter."
