A bus broke down during the evening rush hour on the Bandra Kurla Complex connector bridge creating utter chaos in the area and leaving many pedestrians stranded for over an hour. This situation added to the pre-existing traffic diversions that had been in place for planned events over the past three days.

Frustrated citizens turned to social media to express their anger. One commuter, Mohnish Rathod, said, "When will this get cleared? I've been stuck in the BKC connector area for over an hour. Please let us know what's the issue." Another commuter, Dipali, said, "A bus breakdown cannot cause traffic from the Bandra bridge near Jio mall to BKC avenue, which took more than two hours. I don't know why traffic is not being managed."

Raj Khalid, who was also caught in the traffic jam, said, "Horrible traffic jam on the BKC flyover near Jio mall. I've been stuck for over an hour, and people are walking with their luggage. If they have to go to LT Terminal, where is it?" Prerana Budhwani criticised the authorities, saying, "What have you been doing for the past 1.5 hours? I raised a complaint regarding the traffic situation in BKC since 5 pm, and I'm still not out of BKC. The route via ONGC is completely jammed and not moving an inch. Please help."

Traffic police officials acknowledged that the BKC was indeed facing a traffic issue due to a bus breakdown on the northbound lanes of the connector. They assured the public that they were making efforts to clear the road promptly.

Senior Inspector Manoj Shinde from the BKC traffic police station explained, "An electric bus came to a halt on the bridge that links BKC to Chunabhatti, causing a major traffic jam in the area. The bus was stranded on the bridge from 5.30 pm to 8.15 pm, leading to traffic diversions to alternative routes. Clearing the traffic was a challenging task since the bus was on a narrow lane of the bridge. Finally, at around 8.15 pm, authorities towed the bus and cleared the traffic."
