BJP MLA Ram Kadam has filed an FIR against the makers of the web series Tandav at the Ghatkopar police station. In his FIR, Kadam claimed that the series has objectionable dialogues that insult Hindu gods and the community.
Tandav, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, written by Gaurav Solanki appeared on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on January 15. Kadam has demanded deletion of certain scenes from the series.
Meanwhile, an offence was registered against the makers of the series in Uttar Pradesh. On Monday, Team Tandav had apologised on Twitter. A day later, the Ghatkopar police registered an FIR against the director, writer, and other crew members of Tandav.
"We have registered an offence under IPC section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc and doing act prejudicial to maintenance of harmony, 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 505(2) (public mischief) today," an officer from Ghatkopar police station said.

Following the controversy, the cast and crew of Tandav on Tuesday said that they have decided to implement changes to the political drama to address concerns.
Tandav, a nine-episode political thriller starring Bollywood A-listers Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, started streaming last week but the show landed in a huge controversy over its depiction of Hindu deities.
