Mumbai: BEST to run heritage tour trips in open deck buses during Diwali

BEST has also decided to run extra bus services on prominent routes in Mumbai and its suburbs during Diwali

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Tuesday said it will operate open deck double decker Heritage tour buses from 7 am during Diwali.

"The BEST has planned to operate the Heritage tour trips in open deck buses every hour from October 22 at 7.00 am to give Mumbaikars and tourists a morning view of Mumbai. Commuters can get more information at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk bus depot. Apart from that, information about the Heritage tour trips can also be obtained by calling the toll-free numbers of BEST: 1800 227550 and 022-24190117. The tickets will also be available on the Book My Show app," the BEST undertaking said in a press release.

According to the BEST undertaking, the Heritage tour trips in open deck buses were started in November 2021 for tourists. Heritage tour trips cover sightseeing spots such as Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, Mantralaya, Vidhan Bhawan, N.C.P.A., Marine Drive, Chowpatty, Churchgate Station Oval Ground, Rajabai Tower, Bombay High Court, University of Mumbai, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Hutatma Chowk, Horniman Circle, Reserve Bank of India Asiatic Library, and Old Customs House.

Meanwhile, the BEST has also decided to run extra bus services on prominent routes in Mumbai and its suburbs during Diwali. The additional buses will be operated between October 22 and October 26.

The BEST will run 25 special bus services to cater to the rush of commuters who are out for Diwali shopping in crowded areas such as Dadar, Crawford market, and other parts of the city.
