The CCC will have video walls which will be manned by 16 people
The bus Operational Command and Control Centre (CCC) was inaugurated online through a video conference by Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Thackeray lauded the BMC-run transport undertaking for giving a service true to its name to the people of Mumbai, as it worked even during the lockdown in the absence of local trains, adding that it was taking strong steps towards modernization.
BEST general manager Surendrakumar Bagde said the CCC will have video walls that will be manned by 16 people, and it will help track operations in real-time and give information to commuters.
The BEST app and the GPS in its fleet is a part of the Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) and will allow the passengers to track buses from anywhere. He said all the buses have been fitted with GPS for tracking their location and speed.
