An incident of fire broke out in wet lease bus. A BEST spokesperson told Mid-Day that a Daga group bus caught in fire on route. No. A-288 of Magathane Depot, while running from Kranti Nagar to Kandivli station, East at around 6 pm on Thursday.
"On arrival of the bus, near Alika Nagar Junction Driver observed sparking in Battery. He immediately stop the bus and evacuated the passengers. Mean while fire broke out," BEST spokesperson Manoj Varade told Mid-Day.
Driver immediately used the fire extinguisher and doused the fire.

"We have informed to Daga group officer and at present Daga group officer at the site," Varade said.
"Nobody was hurt in the fire, which was extinguished at 6.30 pm. The bus was plying on BEST route A288 between Kandivali station and Kranti Nagar in the suburb," the fire brigade official said according to PTI.
Other details like what caused the fire are still awaited.
The BEST undertaking provides bus transport within Mumbai limits and also in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, Thane and Mira-Bhayandar areas
