Jafar Ahmad Muztaba Hussain, the deceased
A 61-year-old man, Jafar Ahmad Muztaba Hussain, died due to a snake bite during a trip to Mumbai to shop for his second son's wedding.
Hussain, who had arrived to the city with his family on Thursday, was staying at his niece's residence at Khot Dongri in Malad. A Bahrain-based professional, he had returned to Pune three months ago for the wedding, which was to be held next month.
Sources indicate that the family was busy preparing for the wedding and cooking in the house at the time of the incident.
Hussain was seated near the kitchen and cleaning mutton trotters when the serpent emerged from behind a gas cylinder and bit him.

Hussain was promptly rushed to the nearby Desai Hospital. Subsequently, he was transferred to Shatabdi Hospital, where, after examination, doctors declared him
brought dead.

An accidental death report (ADR) has been registered, and after completing the formalities, including the panchnama, the body was sent for an autopsy. Following the examination, the deceased's body was handed over to the family. They transported Hussain's remains to Pune for the last rites, according to an officer from the Dindoshi police station.
