Allowed to register on the site for anti-Covid-19 vaccination, 493 lactating mothers across the city took their first dose on Wednesday. A total of 479 of them were administered the vaccine at civic-run centres, 10 at government hospitals and the rest at private facilities.
After opening the walk-in facility for different groups of people over the past three days, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) once again went back to online registration. Starting today, only beneficiaries with online registration will be allowed at vaccination centres.
The Union health ministry had on May 19 allowed vaccination of breastfeeding mothers against novel Coronavirus, following which the BMC opened on-site registration for them from Monday to Wednesday. The vaccine was given after producing required medical documents, including the date and place of delivery, at the centres.
