The Aarey police, on Monday, recovered 45 live cartridges from a dirty corner of a street near Oberoi Exquisite Tower in Goregaon East.
The size of the cartridges is 2.5 mm which is the standard size for usage in pistols, cops say.
A man noticed the cartridges lying in the corner and informed his cop friend who is posted in Kurar police station.
Cops from Dindoshi and Aarey police stations reached the spot as it falls within the limits of both areas. However, the matter was taken up by the Aarey police station after discussion.

The cartridges have been seized by the Aarey police station and have been sent for examination to a forensic lab.
As a part of investigation, the police are now scanning CCTV footages and inspecting the surroundings for clues.
