An 18-year-old boy died by suicide after he jumped into a water-filled pit at Vashi Naka on Thursday evening, said police.
The boy has been identified as Prem Shinde.
As per the victim's family, he was suffering from mental health issues and was being treated. An accidental death report (ADR) has been filed at RCF police station.

Around 6 pm on Thursday, cops of RCF police station came to know that a boy has jumped into a pit near Vashi Naka. The fire brigade was called to fish out the boy and he was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
"We circulated the picture and managed to identify the boy. We reached out to his father. He told us that his son had mental health issues and was currently under treatment at Jaslok Hospital. He had tried to kill himself earlier too" said Balasaheb Ghavate, senior inspector, RCF Police station.
According to police, family doesn't have any suspicion or complaint against anyone related to incident. An ADR has been filed at RCF police station.
