An unidentified man in his early 30s committed suicide by jumping off the Sea Link on Saturday early morning

An unidentified man in his early 30s committed suicide by jumping off from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL), on Saturday early morning. Even after an extensive search operation, the body is yet to be recovered. Search operations are in full swing.
Once the body is found, the Worli police will register a case and start investigations. According to officials from Worli police station, the man hailed a taxi from Byculla at 2 am on Saturday and asked the driver to take it to the Sea Link.

They reached their destination within half an hour. The police official, on condition of anonymity, said, "As they were crossing the sea link, the man told the driver, Mohammad Nazar Allah Khan, 40, to stop the cab as his monkey cap had blown off.
We suspect he did this on purpose. He got down from the cab and fetched his monkey cap." According to the police, the unidentified person then pretended to be ill and went near the railing. He jumped off the railing and the cab driver immediately informed the police control room.
A police officer from Worli police sation said, "According to Khan, the man seemed to be well-off." A senior police official said, "The BWSL has become a suicide point. Installing CCTV cameras won't prevent people from committing suicide. The railing height should be increased and security officials must be deployed."
