The tiger was found hiding near the body
Answering nature's call turned fatal for a 23-year-old man, who was killed in a human-animal conflict in Pandharkawda near Nagpur. Avinash Yelgude, a resident of Pivardol village, was attacked and reported killed by a sub-adult tiger late Friday night.
According to Kiran Jagtap, the Deputy Conservator of Forest(DCF) attached to the Pandharkawada Division of Forest Department, "The man had reportedly gone outside near the road, about 400 to 500 metres from the village. The attack was reported to the forest department in the early hours of Saturday. Our field staff along with RFO Jamni and RFO Mobile squad rushed to the spot. It was noticed that the tiger was still hiding in the grass near the body. Eventually, it moved away."
After the incident, villagers gathered in large numbers and demanded that the animal be moved to another place. In the past, there have been several incidents of human-wildlife conflict in and around Nagpur. Few days ago, a senior citizen was killed by a tiger in Chandrapur.
