Moving away from mundane paper-based directives, the Maharashtra state board released a tutorial on YouTube to help teachers understand the assessment process for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results. While the video was a live session on Thursday morning, a recording was uploaded on the state board's official YouTube channel. Within a few hours, it had over 17,000 views.
School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad declared a method for assessment towards the end of May after SSC exams were cancelled. The results will be a combination of the academic record of students from Std IX and X. Marks scored in internal exams during SSC will hold 30 per cent weightage, while the remaining 20 per cent will be derived from oral exams and home assignments. The Std IX scores will hold 50 per cent weightage.
Teachers had raised several queries on the method of computing the scores. "This video tutorial will clear all doubts that the teachers may have," said Dinkar Patil, chairman of, Maharashtra State Board at the beginning of the video. In the tutorial, officials from the state board are seen explaining points related to the assessment pattern, which was released on Wednesday in text format.
The tutorial explains assessment for both regular students and repeaters or private candidates.
