Prashant Bhoir, 30
A personal assistant of MLA Daulat Daroda died in an accident on Mumbai Nashik Highway. The police said Prashant Bhoir went for drinks and dinner on the highway when the accident occurred. However, as the circumstances in which Bhoir died is not clear the bereaved family of the victim has demanded an in-depth investigation into his death. Besides being the PA to the MLA, Bhoir was a civil engineer and engaged in construction work.
According to the police, Bhoir, 30, stayed with his elder brother Mahesh Bhoir at Shahapur. He worked as a personal assistant to Shahapur MLA Daulat Daroda, who is in the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar.
Ravindra Madke, 38, who is into construction business informed the police that Bhoir was a good friend and occasionally consumed liquor. The incident took place in front of Swagat Bar in Ranjnoli Naka on Mumbai Nashik Highway. On May 5, Bhoir, Madke along with their three friends arrived at Lovely Bar on Mumbai Nashik Highway.
They left Lovely Bar when the place closed for the night at about 1.20 am. There were two cars among the group and nobody noticed that Bhoir had been left behind and was not in any of the cars. It was only after cars had left that the friends noticed Bhoir's absence and informed Madke. When the friends rushed back to find Bhoir he was found injured along the highway near Swagat Bar. "He was rushed to a private hospital and his condition deteriorated, the doctors asked us to take him to another hospital. However, Bhoir had succumbed to his injuries when he was brought to the second hospital," stated Madke in his information to the police. The doctors at the hospital pronounced Bhoir as âbrought dead'.
