Maharashtra rains: state govt releases Rs. 755 crore for affected farmers

The Maharashtra government on Thursday released Rs. 755 crore to the farmers of nine districts of the state in Aurangabad, Amravati and Pune, an official release said.

It said, following a discussion in the cabinet sub-committee meeting on helping the rain affected farmers. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had taken a decision in this regard and given instructions to distribute the funds to the districts. Accordingly, on Thursday the relief and rehabilitation department has released the funds those are to be distributed to the affected farmers.

"The government has given relief to the farmers who were affected by heavy rains during the period from June to August 2022," it further said.
