The number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the city have been stable at a lower rate for a week now. The city recorded 435 cases and eight deaths on Saturday. Cases across the states are less than 3,000, but number of deaths remains on the higher side.
The BMC has been conducting more than 15,000 tests per day this week. On Friday, 16,811 tests were conducted. The share of the antigen tests (usually conducted by BMC staff) were 8,100. With 435 positive reports, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is at an all time low at 2.6 per cent - the lowest since the outbreak of the pandemic. In June, the TPR was 18 per cent.
The city recorded eight deaths out of which, six patients had comorbidities, three patients were aged between 40 and 60 years, and five were above 60 years of age. Meanwhile, 505 patients recovered in the city.
The recovery rate has stabilised at 94 per cent. The state recorded 2,697 COVID-19 patients, out of which 849 were reported in the MMR, including Mumbai. All cities, other than Mumbai, reported less than 100 patients each.
