In another incident earlier this month, a large fire broke out in an electric shop in Mumbai's Dhobi Talao neighbourhood. While no injuries were reported, seven fire trucks were dispatched to extinguish the blaze.
Previously, a fire destroyed over 150 vehicles kept at a junkyard in suburban Bandra, but no injuries were reported, according to a report. The event took at around 6:30 pm behind Teacher's Colony, near Shamshan Bhumi, on Bandra Service Road.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Mumbai Fire Brigade promptly responded to the situation and began firefighting operations. The fire, classified as a Level 1 burn, mostly hit an area containing 100-150 scrap vehicles, which covered around 1000 square feet.
Efforts to combat the flames entailed the deployment of a single hose line, which eventually brought the situation under control. Coordination between the BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade and the local police agency was critical in confining the fire and preventing it from spreading to surrounding regions.
