Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis pays tributes to RSS founder Dr K B Hedgewar in Nagpur on Tuesday
The Bharatiya Janata Party's legislators were hosted by its parent organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Dr Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan in Reshim Bagh, Nagpur on Tuesday. The elected representatives attended a workshop where they were advised to be consistent in building and maintaining a connect with the people.
Legislators from both houses, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, are in Nagpur, which houses the RSS headquarters, for the winter session. They visited the memorial together for the first time after the BJP came to power in the state with a Shiv Sena splinter headed by Eknath Shinde. Fadnavis led the group which comprised of state unit president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other ministers. The group paid tribute to Dr Hedgewar and the second RSS chief M S Golwalkar at their samadhi sthal.
The workshop saw the presence of some 113 legislators, including turncoats. RSS's Vidarbha unit chief Ram Harkare, city unit chief Rajesh Loya and city unit deputy chief Shridhar Gadge were present. The speakers spoke about RSS's ideology, the organisation's working mechanism and the programmes undertaken.

Gadge advised the MLAs and MLCs to understand public issues and work accordingly. He suggested that the legislators be present for the RSS's third year training programme in Nagpur to understand the working of the organisation. The delegates were also given literature, including the book India Tomorrow.
