The 41st anniversary of the Thane Municipal Corporation was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The ceremonial municipal flag was proudly hoisted by Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar at the municipal headquarters, accompanied by Additional Commissioner Sandeep Malvi, Additional Commissioner Prashant Rode, and the Head of the Fire Department, Girish Jhalke, an official statement said on Sunday.
According to the statement, the celebration continued with a spectacular display of efficiency and dedication by the fire brigade, security forces, and the MSF, which conducted various operations. The operation was skillfully led by the Chief of Jawahar Bagh Fire Station, Sandeep Kadam, and the Chief of Balkoom Fire Station, Prakash Kaklij.
After the flag-hoisting ceremony and the parade, dignitaries paid their respects to the statues of revered leaders by garlanding them at the Narendra Ballal Auditorium. Present at this solemn occasion were Transport Committee Chairman Vilas Joshi, Additional Commissioner (1) Sandeep Malvi, Additional Commissioner (2) Prashant Rode, Deputy Commissioner Manish Joshi, Varsha Dixit, Angha Kadam, Gajanan Godepure, Umesh Birari, Tushar Pawar, Shankar Patole, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Dilip Suryavanshi, TMT Management's Bhalchandra Behre, Chief Health Officer Chetna K, Chief Environment Officer Manisha Pradhan, along with other senior officers and employees, the statement said.

In a demonstration of respect and reverence for the city's eminent leaders, statues were felicitated to mark this significant anniversary. Commissioner Abhijit Bangar inaugurated the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Masunda Lake and Dr. Bharat Ratna at Court Naka. The statue of Babasaheb Ambedkar was honored with a floral wreath. Present alongside him were Additional Commissioner (1) Sandeep Malvi, Additional Commissioner (2) Prashant Rode, Deputy Commissioner Gajanan Godepure, and Umesh Birari, the statement further said.
Meanwhile, the Thane Municipal Corporation has taken several steps to tackle civic concerns in past years. Thane Municipal Corporation has announced that it will observe "Lokshahi Day" (Democracy Day) to address the grievances of the citizens.
