A leading ammunition manufacturing firm in Nagpur in Maharashtra has told police its server faced a cyber attack last month, following which a First Information Report was registered, an official said on Thursday.
The hacking attack on the server of Solar Industries India Limited, a top manufacturer of defence equipment, ammunition and explosives, took place on January 21 and a case was registered with Nagpur cyber police station on January 25, the police official said.

A top official of the company confirmed the development but refused to give details.

Last week, the net profit of Solar Industries India rose 100.39% to Rs 204.58 crore in the quarter ended December 2022 as against Rs 102.09 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2021.
Sales rose 77.99% to Rs 1811.75 crore in the quarter ended December 2022 as against Rs 1017.87 crore during the previous quarter ended December 2021.
Meanwhile, police in Raigad district in Maharashtra is establishing a museum that will exhibit documents, uniforms and weapons used by the force over the last several decades, a senior official said on Thursday.
The museum will be set up in the police's district headquarters, Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge said.
"There will also be section that shows how the police wireless systems and other communication equipment changed over time. We hope it will become a tourist attraction," Gharge added. (With inputs from agencies)
