With IMD's yellow alert for hot and humid conditions in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai regions, it is advisable to cast your vote in the early hours on Monday, the voting day for all Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai and MMR. If you have to go out in the afternoon, a cap, goggles, and a water bottle are a must, along with Photo ID proof and a voter information slip for voting. You can get a voter slip on your mobile as well. Voting will start as early as 7 am and continue until 6 pm. There are more than 1,500 booths in each constituency, which means your booth won't be more than a kilometre away.
The maximum temperature will hover around 35 degrees Celsius at noon, according to the forecast by the Indian Meteorological Department. However, due to high humidity, it may feel like 40 degrees Celsius. If you go in the afternoon, especially after 12 pm, please carry a hat or umbrella for cover and a water bottle to stay hydrated. Alternatively, you can go after noon, but many voters tend to turn out at that time, and you may have to wait in a long queue, although the ECI works hard to ensure you can vote with ease.
The ECI has also provided 12 alternative documents other than the voter ID card for identity verification. If a voter is registered in the electoral roll, voting can be done by showing any of these documents: Passport, driving license, Aadhar Card, PAN card, government or public limited company's ID, Bank or Post office passbook with photos, MGNREGA card, etc.
