The Shiv Sena, under the leadership of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has chosen former Thane mayor Naresh Mhaske as its candidate for the Thane Lok Sabha seat. Mhaske will compete against incumbent MP Rajan Vichare from the Shiv Sena (UBT).
Additionally, the party has officially declared Shrikant Shinde, son of CM Shinde, as its candidate for the Kalyan Lok Sabha seat, a position he currently holds.
Shrikant Shinde's nomination for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 was previously announced by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, representing the ruling 'Mahayuti' alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Ajit Pawar.

Thane holds significance for CM Shinde, who represents the Kopri-Pachpakhadi assembly constituency in the area. The party later announced candidates for the Nashik and Palghar Lok Sabha seats too.
Battle lines drawn in Mumbai for Lok Sabha Elections 2024
The six seats of Mumbai, namely Mumbai South, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai North, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai North-East, and Mumbai North-West, will see heated clashes between various political parties. These are among the 13 seats in Maharashtra that will be voting for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in the fifth and final round on May 20.
In Mumbai South, the incumbent MP Arvind Sawant of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena will face Yamini Jadhav of the Shinde-led Sena. Similarly, in Mumbai South-Central, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Desai will face Rahul Shewale of the Eknath Shinde-led Sena.
The Mumbai North-West constituency will see a confrontation between Amol Kirtikar of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) and Ravindra Waikar of the ruling Shiv Sena party led by Chief Minister Shinde.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai North-Central, Congress MLA Varsha Gaikwad will face BJP candidate Ujjwal Nikam, a noted lawyer. In Mumbai North, BJP Union Minister Piyush Goyal will face off against Congress candidate Bhushan Patil.
Mihir Kotecha of the BJP will face Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Dina Patil in the Mumbai North-East constituency.
