The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced on Thursday that they would conduct door-to-door campaigns in Mumbai for INDIA alliance candidates.
Preeti Sharma Menon, Mumbai President of the Aam Aadmi Party, said, "The Aam Aadmi Party is actively engaged in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Mumbai. Our members and supporters are energised at all levels, providing significant momentum for the INDIA alliance."
"The Aam Aadmi Party has made significant strides in Indian Politics. As the only political startup to evolve into a unicorn in recent history, it has been a transformative force in Indian politics. Under the visionary leadership of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party has rapidly emerged as the youngest national political entity, with elected governments in Delhi and Punjab, MLAs in Goa and Gujarat, and numerous local body councillors nationwide," she added.
In the 2014 elections, despite being political greenhorns, the Aam Aadmi Party polled 5.16% of the votes across Mumbai's 6 Lok Sabha Constituencies. "We are now a national party with a national footprint and are a household name across Mumbai. We also have a well-oiled party organisation across Mumbai- across 227 Wards, 36 Assemblies and 6 Lok Sabha constituencies. The party membership is 2.90 lakh in Mumbai and has been physically verified and mapped on the electoral rolls," the Arvind Kejriwal-led party said.

Preeti Sharma Menon highlighted that following the unjust arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a fabricated case, there has been a significant surge of sympathy towards the Aam Aadmi Party. "According to our internal surveys, the party currently commands a 12.6% vote share in Mumbai," she added.
"Mumbai and Mumbaikars have never been a priority for the BJP. The party's agenda appears to undermine Mumbai's significance as India's financial hub by systematically diverting vital projects meant for the city to Gujarat. The BJP is dominated by 'builders', exemplified by figures like Mihir Kotecha and Rahul Shewale, while Piyush Goyal, a 'helicoptered' candidate, displays insensitivity towards Mumbai's native inhabitants," said Preeti Sharma Menon.
Preeti Sharma Menon emphasised that the party cadre is collaborating closely with the cadre of India alliance parties on the ground and has been witnessing an overwhelming response during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024. "This election is unprecedented, with people actively participating and challenging Modi's authoritarianism," she said.
Ruben Mascarenhas, Mumbai Working President of the Aam Aadmi Party, expressed that the party garners widespread support across all segments of society, encompassing both the working-class masses and the elite.
"The party is known for its aggressive and penetrative door-to-door campaign. The party cadre has begun door to door campaign across 6 Lok Sabha constituencies, in close coordination with the campaign teams of all 6 Lok Sabha candidates. Arvind Kejriwal's leadership will garner votes for the INDIA alliance across the country. The support of the Aam Aadmi Party will prove to be decisive in the electoral victories of all the 6 Lok Sabha candidates of the INDIA alliance in Mumbai", he added.
