Sanchu Menon, who announced the reward, told mid-day, "The family members have decided to help the cops in this case, because of which they have announced a reward of R1 lakh after taking permission from the Mumbai Police. The police have appreciated our move and had also given us the go ahead for the campaign to look for Rajbhar."

Campaign to hunt Gotu
Menon said that Hema's family is also planning a social media campaign to look for Gotu. They also intend on pasting posters throughout the city seeking information on him. Menon added, "We have sourced a recent photograph of Rajbhar. He has shaved his head and has tried to change his look completely. We will now circulate this photograph on social media and seek information on him."

Menon also alleged that he has learnt from common friends that some of the couple's friends are trying to help Rajbhar with details of the investigations, so that he does not get arrested before the police file a chargesheet in the case. According to the cops, Rajbhar is the most important missing link in the case. Without his arrest, it would be difficult for them to prove charges against Hema's estranged husband, artist Chintan Upadhyay.
