Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Monday took a jibe at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Calling Eknath Shinde the "illegal CM of Maharashtra," Aaditya Thackeray criticised Shinde, asserting that he had no involvement in the development of the Mumbai Coastal Road project, reported news agency ANI.
Targeting Eknath Shinde over the inauguration of the Mumbai coastal road project, Thackeray said, "The illegal CM goes for every 500-meter inauguration, neither he nor Fadnavis (Devendra Fadnavis) has any involvement in the Coastal Road," reported ANI.
Speaking with the reporters, Aaditya Thackeray also spoke about the BDD chawls in Worli and said, "For the last 25 years, this project was going on and off. Under the MVA government, we started the project on August 1, 2021. The first phase is almost finished," reported ANI.

He added further, "If we were in the government, the entire Mumbai coastal road project would have been completed by December 2023," reported ANI.
Taking to his official X handle, Aaditya Thackeray also posted about the chawls and expressed confidence in completing the project on time. He posted, "Through Mahavikas Aghadi and party chief Uddhavsaheb Thackeray, the dream of a rightful house for the BDD Chalwasi in Worli is being fulfilled. As usual, today visited the project site to see the work of the redevelopment project here. After discussing with the officials here, the difficulties and problems encountered in the project were learned. Overcoming all obstacles, we are confident that this project will be completed on time."
In another tweet, he appreciated the MVA government for initiating the redevelopment project and asserted that the first phase would be completed by the end of the year. He said, "Visiting BDD chawls Worli is always special. On August 1, 2021, we initiated the works of this mega redevelopment project, as the MVA government, and today, we see that the first phase will be complete by the end of the year. In Worli, thousands of families will move into 500 sq ft homes and will have access to a better quality of life, in the middle of the city."
He added further, "Some of the chawls are almost 100 years old and the promise of redevelopment was made by various governments for 25 years. It was the MVA government, led by the then CM, Uddhav Thackeray, that started the works and quickened the speed of the redevelopment. We visit it once every two months, to check on the speed, and to weed out issues that may arise.
