Gadoli encounter: SIT arrests two more Haryana policemen

The constables allegedly planted a firearm near Gadoli’s body and damaged the hotel’s CCTV camera


The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged fake encounter of Gurgaon gangster Sandeep Gadoli, on Tuesday arrested two more Haryana policemen in connection with the case.


Also wanted in the murder case is Divya Pahuja (left), who was allegedly used as a honeytrap to keep track of Gadoli (right) and ensure he came to Mumbai unarmed

Praful Bhosale, the chief investigating officer of the case and assistant commissioner of police of the Mumbai Crime Branch, confirmed that Haryana Police constables Vikram Singh and Jitendra Yadav were arrested last evening.

Singh and Yadav were allegedly present during the encounter in the Andheri hotel room on February 7, when three bullets were pumped into Gadoli's body by a Haryana Police team led by Sub-Inspector Pradyuman Yadav, was arrested on July 5. The arrested cops will be presented in court today.

"In the Gurgaon Police's concocted story of Gadoli's ‘genuine' encounter, Singh said that during the shootout. Gadoli shot at him and injured his leg. In retaliation, the police team fired at the gangster," a source said. The source added that Yadav was one of the three policemen who shot Gadoli. Both the arrested constables were involved in planting a firearm near Gadoli's body and damaging the hotel CCTV camera. The acts of both the cops were captured in another CCTV camera, which went unnoticed by the Gurgaon cops.

Apart from Yadav, Singh and Jitendra, two more Gurgaon cops were involved in the fake encounter, which includes one Paramjit Ehlawat, who is yet to be arrested. Also wanted in the murder case are four civilians, including Gadoli's girlfriend Divya Pahuja, who was allegedly used as a honeytrap to keep track of Gadoli and ensure he came to Mumbai unarmed.
